THE BALANCED SCORECARD: ACHIEVING PEAK PERFORMANCE

THE BALANCED SCORECARD: ACHIEVING PEAK PERFORMANCE

RATIONALE

Achieving and exceeding goals can be very challenging yet simple, that is if we know the right tools to employ. The problem is not just in embarking on a project; it is in sustaining and bringing it to a fulfilling end. Oftentimes we look forward to the end of a project without putting into consideration the amount of dedication required to achieve a productive result.

The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) is a strategy performance management tool – a semi-standard structured report, supported by design methods and automation tools that can be used by managers to keep track of the execution of activities by the staff within their control and to monitor the consequences arising from these actions.

The critical characteristics that define a balanced scorecard are:

  • its focus on the strategic agenda of the organization concerned
  • the selection of a small number of data items to monitor
  • a mix of financial and non-financial data items

Every organisation needs to review its performance in order to restrategise and fall right back on track. This course is designed for organisations both public and private sector to enable them develop the right ideas to achieve and exceed set targets.
